TEMPLE DECODED | EPISODE 04 🛕 Indian Architecture, One Temple at a Time What makes the architecture of a temple truly timeless? ✨ The Mahalaxmi Temple in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, is a beautiful example of how spirituality and traditional Indian architecture come together. From its stone-built structure and intricate carvings to its distinctive Hemadpanthi architectural influences, every detail reflects the craftsmanship and devotion of its time. One of its most fascinating features is the Kirnotsav — a unique phenomenon when the setting sun’s rays fall directly on Goddess Mahalaxmi during specific days of the year, creating a remarkable interplay of architecture, light and astronomy. ☀️ At Krea Studio, we decode the stories behind India’s architectural marvels, one temple at a time. Because every structure has a story waiting to be discovered. #TempleDecoded #KreaStudio #MahalaxmiTemple #Kolhapur #IndianArchitecture TempleArchitecture
TEMPLE DECODED | EPISODE 03 🛕 Indian Architecture, One Temple at a Time. Standing tall on the Chamundi Hills of Mysuru, the Chamundeshwari Temple is a beautiful expression of Dravidian architecture, devotion, and centuries of heritage. From its towering, intricately sculpted gopuram to the detailed carvings that adorn its structure, every element reflects the artistry and spiritual significance of traditional South Indian temple architecture. More than a place of worship, it is a story carved in stone. ✨ Temple Decoded — discovering the stories behind India’s sacred architecture, one temple at a time. #TempleDecoded #KreaStudio #ChamundeshwariTemple #Mysuru #DravidianArchitecture
Nine towers reaching towards the heavens, and a sacred Shivling embraced by the vastness of the sea. 🛕🌊 From an architectural perspective, Dakshinwhar Temple is a beautiful expression of devotion meeting the elements. Its nine towering structures create a striking vertical rhythm, while the Shivling surrounded by the sea evokes the timeless connection between Shiva, nature, and the cosmic waters. Here, architecture is more than stone and structure — it becomes a spiritual experience shaped by the elements. #DakshinwharTemple #TempleArchitecture #IndianArchitecture #SacredArchitecture #Shiva Shivling ArchitecturalHeritage
Where architecture descends into devotion. The Kamakhya Devi Temple in Assam is a striking example of the Nilachal style of temple architecture, where a distinctive beehive-shaped shikhara rises above the sanctum, crowned by sculptural elements that give the silhouette its unmistakable character. From the ascending profile of the superstructure to the descending steps that guide devotees inward, every architectural transition shapes the journey from the physical to the spiritual. The temple’s stonework, domed form and layered geometry reflect centuries of craftsmanship and sacred symbolism. Architectural fun fact: Unlike the towering, curvilinear shikharas of many North Indian temples, Kamakhya’s main temple features a distinctive beehive-shaped dome, making it an important example of Assam’s regional architectural identity. A space where form, faith and the landscape of Nilachal Hill come together. #KamakhyaTemple #TempleArchitecture #IndianArchitecture #AssamHeritage #NilachalHills SacredArchitecture ArchitecturalHeritage IndianHeritage Shikhara ArchitectureLovers

Designed as more than a collection of built spaces, the India Habitat Centre is a thoughtful response to Delhi’s climate and the way people move through space. Courtyards, water bodies, bridges and narrow corridors come together to create a layered spatial experience—while helping shade the built environment and encourage cooler air movement. The interconnected walkways and open-to-sky spaces blur the boundaries between architecture and landscape. A reminder that good architecture isn’t always about adding more—it’s about understanding the climate, the context, and designing accordingly. 🌿 #ArchitectsPOV #IndiaHabitatCentre #ArchitectureIndia #DelhiArchitecture #ClimateResponsiveArchitecture

Things I stopped doing once I realised architecture is a business. I stopped saying yes to everything. I stopped accepting unrealistic timelines. I stopped doing endless revisions without clarity. I stopped letting scope creep become “just one more thing.” And I stopped confusing being helpful with being profitable. Because good architecture needs more than creativity—it needs clear boundaries, realistic processes, and a sustainable business model. Architecture is the passion. The practice is the business.

As architects and interior designers, we often talk about the spaces we create — the materials, the details, the vision. But bringing that vision to life is also about the people behind it: the right teams, the right manufacturers, and the right collaborators. Our first guest is Mrs. Avani Khandelwal, Founder of Ambiente Rugs, as we step behind the brand to understand the craft, the process, and the people who make thoughtful design possible. Because great spaces are never created alone. #BehindTheBrands #KritikaSharma #Architecture #InteriorDesign #DesignCommunity DesignStories InteriorArchitecture IndianDesign
